Bunlar \u00f6zellikle karma\u015f\u0131k h\u00fccresel s\u00fcre\u00e7lerde \u00f6nemi olan genlerin tan\u0131mlanmas\u0131nda yararl\u0131 olmaktayd\u0131. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fakat Ohsumi i\u00e7in bu ayn\u0131 zamanda zorlu bir s\u00fcre\u00e7 anlam\u0131na geliyordu; maya h\u00fccreleri k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fckt\u00fc ve i\u00e7 yap\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131n mikroskop alt\u0131nda ay\u0131rt edilmesi kolay de\u011fildi. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla bu organizmada otofajinin var olup olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan bile emin de\u011fildi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Ohsumi h\u00fccre birimindeki otofaji i\u015flemi aktifken par\u00e7alanma i\u015flemini kesintiye u\u011fratmay\u0131 ak\u0131l etti. Bu sayede otofagozomlar h\u00fccre birimi i\u00e7inde birikmeli ve mikroskop alt\u0131nda g\u00f6r\u00fcnebilir hale gelmeliydi.
