Ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131, v\u00fccut \u015feklindeki cinsiyete \u00f6zg\u00fc de\u011fi\u015fikliklerin zamanlamas\u0131n\u0131, n\u00f6ral a\u011flar\u0131n olgunla\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 ve davran\u0131\u015f\u0131 kontrol eden \u015fa\u015f\u0131rt\u0131c\u0131 yeni bir molek\u00fcler mekanizma ortaya koydu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Caenorhabditis Elegans, di\u011fer ad\u0131yla k\u0131l kurdu,  yakla\u015f\u0131k 1 mm boyunda, mikroskobik, patojen olmayan, do\u011fada a\u011fa\u00e7 diplerinde ya\u015fayan bir organizmad\u0131r. Laboratuvar ko\u015fullar\u0131nda, petri kab\u0131 i\u00e7inde bakteriyle beslenerek ya\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcrebilen bir nematoddur.  Bu organizma, hermafrodit ve erkek olmak \u00fczere iki cinsiyete sahiptir. Erkekler populasyonun % 0.5\u2019 inden daha az\u0131n\u0131 olu\u015fturur. C. elegans\u2019\u0131n d\u00f6rt (L1-L4) larval   d\u00f6nemi vard\u0131r. Bu larval d\u00f6nemler yakla\u015f\u0131k 3 g\u00fcn s\u00fcrmektedir. Bu solucanlar kullan\u0131larak yap\u0131lan ke\u015fiflerin bir\u00e7o\u011fu, hayvanlar aleminde uygulanmaktad\u0131r ve bu ara\u015ft\u0131rma daha geni\u015f bir insan biyolojisi anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131na yol a\u00e7m\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Asl\u0131nda, C. elegans&#8217;\u0131n kullan\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar i\u00e7in t\u0131pta ve kimyada toplam \u00fc\u00e7 Nobel \u00d6d\u00fcl\u00fc verildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar, etkisi engellendi\u011finde \u00e7ocukluktan yeti\u015fkinlik evresine ge\u00e7i\u015fi geciktiren yeni bir gen tan\u0131mlad\u0131lar. Farkl\u0131 bir \u015fekilde, lep-5 ad\u0131 verilen bu gen, \u00e7o\u011fu genin yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi bir protein olarak i\u015flev g\u00f6rmez. Bunun yerine, k\u0131sa s\u00fcre \u00f6nce ke\u015ffedilen bir gen s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131 olan ve i\u015flevleri b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde gizemli olan, kodlay\u0131c\u0131 olmayan uzun bir RNA (lncRNA) olarak i\u015flev g\u00f6r\u00fcr. Ekip, bu IncRNA&#8217;n\u0131n MKRN3&#8217;e benzer bir C. elegans geni olan LIN-28 ve LEP-2 ile do\u011frudan etkile\u015fime girerek gen\u00e7likten yeti\u015fkinlere ge\u00e7i\u015fi te\u015fvik etmek i\u00e7in \u00f6nemli oldu\u011funu g\u00f6zlemledi.
