Atat\u00fcrk t\u00fcm oturumlara kat\u0131l\u0131p bildirileri dinlemi\u015ftir. Kongrenin amac\u0131 Tez\u2019in teorik temelini form\u00fcle etmek ve Tez\u2019i destekleyecek bilimsel ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 te\u015fvik etmektir. Pozitivist bir bilim olarak antropoloji, sa\u011flayaca\u011f\u0131 sa\u011flam kan\u0131tlar a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan son derece \u00f6nemli bir bilim olarak kongrede \u00f6n plana \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Tezin temel arg\u00fcman\u0131, T\u00fcrklerin prehistorik \u00e7a\u011flara uzanan ortak \u0131rksal, dilsel ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrel bir k\u00f6kene sahip olduklar\u0131d\u0131r. T\u00fcrkler, ana vatan\u0131 Orta Asya olan ve orada b\u00fcy\u00fck bir uygarl\u0131k kurmu\u015f olan bir topluluktur. Bu topluluk, Orta Asya\u2019dan g\u00f6\u00e7 dalgalar\u0131yla d\u00fcnyan\u0131n \u00e7e\u015fitli yerlerine yay\u0131lm\u0131\u015f ve b\u00fcy\u00fck uygarl\u0131klar\u0131 kurmu\u015flard\u0131r. Tezin o d\u00f6nemde Avrupa\u2019da, \u00f6zellikle de Almanya\u2019da \u00e7ok pop\u00fcler olan Hint-Avrupal\u0131 ya da Aryan tezini referans ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00e7ok a\u00e7\u0131kt\u0131r. Aryan \u0131rk\u0131n k\u00f6kenini Orta Asya\u2019da arayan 19. y\u00fczy\u0131la \u00f6zg\u00fc yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 esas alan \u0130nan\u2019a g\u00f6re T\u00fcrkler Orta Asya\u2019n\u0131n en eski halk\u0131 oldu\u011funa g\u00f6re Aryanlar\u0131n da atas\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Afet \u0130nan\u2019\u0131n tezi a\u00e7\u0131klamas\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131ndaki\na\u00e7\u0131klamalar\u0131 \u015fu \u015fekildedir:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018\u2019 T\u00fcrk\u00fcn ana yurdu, Orta Asya yaylas\u0131d\u0131r!&#8230; Bu yurdun bel kemi\u011fi, Altaylar-Pamir m\u0131nt\u0131kas\u0131d\u0131r. T\u00fcrkler bu be\u015fikte, en az mil\u00e2ttan 9000 y\u0131l evvel, k\u00fclt\u00fcr sahibi bir \u0131rk olmu\u015f bulunuyordu. (\u2026) Ar\u00eeler denilen insanlar, Hindiku\u015f da\u011flar\u0131n\u0131 i\u015fgal eden insanlard\u0131r. Bu insanlar, Hindistan\u2019a, buralardan gideceklerdir; buradan garba gidecekler de olacakt\u0131r. Bu insanlar\u0131n Altay-Pamir halk\u0131ndan ba\u015fka bir \u015fey olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 meydandad\u0131r. Antropoloji burada devreye girmektedir: Antropolojik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalarla T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de ya\u015fayan ve ge\u00e7mi\u015fte ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f insanlar\u0131n \u0131rksal \u00f6zellikleri ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lacak, tarih \u00f6ncesinden g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze devaml\u0131l\u0131k g\u00f6steren h\u00e2kim \u0131rksal \u00f6zellikler bulunacak ve T\u00fcrk \u0131rk\u0131n\u0131n ger\u00e7ek yeri d\u00fcnyaya tan\u0131t\u0131lacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ord. Prof. Dr.\n\u015eevket Aziz Kansu hocam\u0131z tezde T\u00fcrk Irk\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6zelliklerinden \u015f\u00f6yle\nbahsetmi\u015ftir:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018\u2019 Vasatinin \u00fcst\u00fcnde bir boy (167,59), brakisefal bir kafa, Leptosop (ince uzun) bir burun, kulaklar vasati dedi\u011fimiz bir eb\u2019atta bulunuyor. Teredd\u00fcts\u00fcz cevab\u0131n\u0131 derhal verelim ki brakisefal Avrupa bize ba\u011fl\u0131d\u0131r.\u2019\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Kongrenin hemen ard\u0131ndan Atat\u00fcrk\u2019\u00fcn emriyle\nba\u015fkent Ankara\u2019da Dil ve Tarih-Co\u011frafya Fak\u00fcltesi (DTCF) kurulmu\u015f ve\n\u0130stanbul\u2019daki Antropoloji Tetkikat Merkezi de t\u00fcm kadrosu, ekipman\u0131 ve inceleme\nmateryalleriyle buraya ta\u015f\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Tetkikat Merkezi bir antropoloji b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcne\nd\u00f6n\u00fc\u015fm\u00fc\u015f ve iskelet kal\u0131nt\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131n incelenece\u011fi bir de laboratuvar kurulmu\u015ftur.\nAntropolojik olarak T\u00fcrk \u0131rk\u0131n\u0131n temel \u00f6zelliklerini bulmak i\u00e7in tasarlanm\u0131\u015f en\ntipik ve bu \u00f6l\u00e7ekteki tek \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma Afet \u0130nan\u2019\u0131n doktora tezidir. 1937\u2019de yap\u0131lan\nbu dev projede T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin farkl\u0131 b\u00f6lgelerinde ya\u015fayan 64 bin ki\u015fi \u00fczerinde\nantropometrik \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcmler al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.17 \u0130nan\u2019\u0131n Pittard dan\u0131\u015fmanl\u0131\u011f\u0131nda yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu\ndoktora tezi 1939 y\u0131l\u0131nda Geneva(Cenova)\u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde kabul edilir.
